Due to a GP data error, a 28-year-old man received a deadly Covid injection; the coroner gives a warning.
A coroner has formally cautioned about the death of a young, healthy man who received the Oxford AstraZeneca vaccination by mistake due to a medical error.
Due to a mistake in his GP records that misclassified him as morbidly obese, 28-year-old Alex Reid was invited for his first injection in March 2021.
It meant that, as a vulnerable adult, he had received an early vaccination, one month ahead of government guidance stating that, because to the risk of blood clots, those under the age of thirty should not receive the AstraZeneca vaccine.
Following his second vaccination dosage, Mr. Reid passed away three months later. A senior coroner has now cautioned about the accuracy of health care statistics.
